privacy  Privacy Notice – How we will use the data you share with us.

Your Say Advocacy collects and uses your information to help to make sure we deliver the very best service that we can to as many people as possible, through our block and spot contracts.

We will not use your data for publicity or share it with others who may want to do so.

We take our duty to protect your personal information and confidentiality seriously. We are committed to taking all reasonable measures to ensure the confidentiality and security of personal data for which we are responsible.

We will keep the data you provide and use it to ensure your Advocate and staff working at Your Say know enough about you to provide the right support, or help you to find the right support if it is not us.

We will also use your anonymised data, including diversity monitoring information (if you choose to provide it), to find out about the types of people and communities we engage with.

Your information will be shared by the Your Say team anonymously with Local Authorities and Health who commission our service, when they want to see how we are providing services with the funding they provide to us. We will never share your data with any third party, unless you give us your  consent to do so, or because we are required to disclose the information by law.

All your data will be kept in locked cabinets and on secure computers. We will keep your information for seven years after we have stopped working with you, unless you ask us to remove it from our records.

Your Rights and our Responsibilities:-

To collect and process your data – including sensitive data we need Consent. Where someone is unable to consent we can collect and process some data that allows us to undertake our work as Advocates – this is a legitimate purpose.

You have the:-

  • Right to withdraw your consent – to change your mind about the data we hold.

  • Right to be forgotten – to ask that information is removed

  • Right to rectification – to be able to have information corrected if it is recorded wrongly

  • Right to restriction – to be able to ask that we do not use your information if we cant remove it immediately

  • Right to object – to be able to tell us if you don’t like how we use your data

  • Right to Portability – to ask for your information to be passed to another service if you change providers

  • Right to complain – to make a complaint if you are unhappy about the data we hold or process. You can complain to us or the Information Commissioners Office on 03031231113
